  • Duration: 4-5 months

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee the maintenance and conservation of the Abbey’s estate, ensuring everything from its fabric to its plant and precincts are cared for to the highest standards.
  • Take the lead on major restoration and development projects, from planning to delivery.
  • Ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to agreed specifications.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across the Works team, wider Abbey colleagues, and external contractors, consultants, and partners.
  • Promote and implement best practice in heritage conservation, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Step in for the Clerk of the Works when required, providing clear and confident leadership.

About You:

We’re seeking someone with:

  • Knowledge of current standards, systems, and best practice in estate and facilities management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach, with the confidence to build positive relationships at all levels.

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Experience working in an ecclesiastical, heritage, or cultural setting.
  • A passion for sustainability and energy efficiency, especially within historic environments.
