  • Monitor revenue performance and service levels across the allocated fleet.
  • Maintain regular communication with drivers and build strong working relationships.
  • Respond to same-day operational issues and resolve problems quickly.
  • Book and manage VBS slots accurately.
  • Monitor workloads, delivery schedules and vehicle availability.
  • Liaise with customers, drivers and internal teams to ensure collections and deliveries run smoothly.
  • Maintain accurate transport records and update relevant systems.
  • Support the wider transport team during busy periods.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Traffic Operator, Transport Planner or Transport Coordinator.
  • Experience within container haulage, port logistics or a similar transport environment.
  • Knowledge of Felixstowe, London Gateway or Southampton port operations.
  • Understanding of VBS booking systems.
  • Experience using TOPS would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple vehicles, drivers and priorities.
  • Confidence working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good general IT skills.
  • A proactive, motivated and team-focused approach.

Benefits

  • 20 days’ holiday, increasing with length of service up to 25 days.
  • Birthday off following successful completion of probation.
  • Life assurance.
  • Company pension.
  • Free 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Health and wellbeing support.
  • On-site parking.
