About the Role
An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Semi Senior to join its professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to further develop their accounting and audit career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accounts and audit assignments, supporting managers and partners, and assisting with the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Complete audit assignments, including work on more complex audit areas.
- Identify and resolve accounting issues, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare and review management accounts, providing meaningful analysis and insight.
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information, answer queries and build strong working relationships.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and work closely with tax specialists where required.
- Review the work of junior team members, providing guidance, support and constructive feedback.
- Identify opportunities to improve clients’ accounting processes and internal controls.
- Assist clients with accounting software and record-keeping best practices.
- Ensure assignments are completed efficiently, accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of client service and professional conduct at all times.
- Support internal training initiatives and contribute to the development of the wider team.
Skills & Experience Essential
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience preparing accounts and undertaking audit work.
- Good understanding of accounting standards and audit procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and work to deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Desirable
- ACA / ACCA part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Experience preparing corporation tax computations.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
- Familiarity with accounting software and cloud-based accounting systems.
