Proposition Development Manager
About the Role
Bradley David Associates is recruiting for our leading financial services client.
You will be responsible for managing an assigned Group Protection proposition, overseeing the ongoing maintenance and governance of existing products while leading all proposition development activity across the allocated product portfolio. This includes enhancing current offerings as well as supporting the design and launch of new products.
As a subject matter expert in the Group Protection and Employee Benefits market, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring strong customer outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
Proposition Strategy:
- Partner with the Head of Proposition, Protection Senior Leadership Team, and key stakeholders to define, publish, and communicate the strategy and development roadmap for the assigned proposition.
- Conduct market research and analysis, producing insight-led papers and presentations to support decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
Proposition Management:
- Lead the day-to-day management of the proposition, including customer and intermediary issue resolution and ongoing monitoring of customer outcomes through MI.
- Carry out comprehensive Product Reviews at agreed intervals, identifying required actions and managing these through to completion.
- Work closely with internal teams (including IT, Change, and 1st and 2nd Line Risk & Compliance) to identify and deliver proportionate proposition changes that support commercial objectives and enhance customer outcomes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and external partners to deliver campaigns that increase awareness and understanding of proposition features, including the regular review and approval of product literature.
- Partner with Proposition Managers across the wider business to agree and embed best practice in Product Lifecycle Management and Product Governance.
Proposition Development:
- Lead all proposition development initiatives for the assigned portfolio, including major enhancements to existing products and the development of new propositions.
- Establish and manage working groups and project plans, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and ensuring all actions are delivered successfully in line with governance requirements.
Third-Party Supplier Management:
- Manage and oversee third-party suppliers that support the proposition, including day-to-day issue management, MI review, supplier performance reviews, and contract ownership responsibilities.
- Research and assess new third-party services, engaging with potential suppliers to evaluate how their offerings could enhance customer outcomes.
Market Research:
- Work with Data & Insight teams to commission and interpret customer and intermediary research, using findings to inform recommendations and proposition development.
- Monitor competitor activity and broader market trends to identify opportunities, address gaps, and shape the proposition roadmap.
Internal & External Communications:
- Act as the ‘voice of the proposition’, clearly communicating change internally to stakeholders and externally to customers, intermediaries, and the wider market.
- Present proposition developments to customer and intermediary audiences, facilitate feedback sessions, and support engagement activity to ensure propositions remain relevant and effective.
Who You Are:
- Proven specialist experience within the Group Protection, Healthcare, and/or Employee Benefits markets
- Experience developing product and/or market strategies
- Strong understanding of product development processes and associated governance frameworks
- An effective communicator, able to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and present propositions with clarity and impact
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading cross-functional teams without direct line management responsibility
- Emerging leadership capability with a desire to further develop leadership skills
- Technical knowledge of Group Protection products (advantageous)
- Experience working with employer clients and/or intermediaries (advantageous)
