About the Role

An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accounts & Audit Senior to join its professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients while supporting the development of junior team members.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality accounts and audit assignments, working closely with managers and partners, and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare statutory accounts for a broad range of clients with minimal supervision.
• Complete audit assignments, including testing and reviewing more complex audit areas.
• Identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback and support.
• Assist with the preparation and review of management accounts, including analysis of financial performance and key ratios.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and liaise with specialist tax teams where required.
• Communicate directly with clients to obtain information, answer queries, and provide guidance on accounting matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve clients' financial systems, controls, and accounting processes.
• Support clients with accounting software implementation, training, and best practice recommendations.
• Ensure assignments are completed efficiently, accurately, and within agreed deadlines.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and training of junior staff.
• Assist in delivering internal technical training where appropriate.

About You

You will be an experienced accounting professional with strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.

• Experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
• Strong accounts preparation and audit experience.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively.
• Experience reviewing the work of junior staff and supporting their development.
• Good understanding of corporation tax and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client service.
